On October 30, the Ms. Foundation and New York Life, held the “Women @ Work: Trends Past and Present” discussion. President and CEO Teresa C. Younger spoke about the wage gap, worker protections, and suggested improvements in the workplace for women. She described a historical overview from the 1970’s to the present, regarding the title of Ms. and women’s identity. Ms. Younger used her own family history and personal experiences as an African-American woman to show the advances and struggles of women’s rights.
The conference was a unified forum for women coming together to voice their concerns about the state of women in the workplace. Networking and sharing is the first step towards empowerment and change. Let’s continue to work together towards a better future for all women!
